There are lots to do in Wonboyn and every trip is a new adventure to take in new sights and experiences.
Enjoy the lorikeets at Wonboyn Cabins and Caravan Park. See the daily feeding and also experience the breakfast with the lorikeets.
Because Wonboyn is surrounded by forest and wilderness, visiting nature lovers are guaranteed their fill of native birds, animals and flora.
The area is home to over one hundred bird species, a wide variety of which are seen regularly here in the park - even shy lyre birds wander about in winter, digging up the gardens! Not so wild are our "resident" rainbow lorikeets, king parrots and crimson rosellas which can be hand fed - in fact they insist on it! Bird seed can be obtained at the office or the store - please be aware that it is detrimental to the health of native birds and animals to feed them "human" foods.
A number of native animals also visit or live in the park, and the Nadgee Wilderness is of course home to many more - you will see kangaroos and wallabies, bandicoots, goannas, plenty of possums and even the occasional wombat and bandicoot.

Walks & Hiking
The Nadgee Nature Reserve offers unparallelled walks through bushland and landscapes ranging from rugged coastal heath to tranquil rock pools and dramatic coastal cliffs. Fauna include some rare and endangered species such as the ground parrot, long thought to be extinct, and the Eastern bristlebird. The vegetation throughout the park is both complex and diverse.
Common fish species caught regularly at Wonboyn include some of the biggest and best dusky flatheads you'll see anywhere, bream, luderick, salmon and tailor, estuary perch, silver trevally, excellent whiting and even jewfish if you put the time and effort in. Not uncommon off the rocks and at sea are catches of snapper (mostly "pinkies"), several varieties of wrasse, the occasional drummer, gurnard, gummy and other sharks.
Boat owners can rent moorings on our jetty, and we have two hire boats available to park guests for fishing the lake and river. A boat is not a necessity, however, as there is plenty of land-based fishing accessible via a drive and/or a short walk. Access to the beaches and lake shores is via National Parks bush tracks.
